Tech Up Bursary Program

New for 2018/19 the Tech-Up Bursary Program in Prince George for grades 5-9!

Through Tech-Up, the Exploration Place in partnership with Science World is enhancing current province-wide programs for students and teachers to include coding and computational thinking.

For teachers, the Tech-Up project will involve the development of new coding and digital skills, barrier-free hands-on professional development experiences for educators.  These new coding and digital skills training modules will be developed in consultation with expert learning technology teachers from throughout BC.  All training will support teachers to meaningfully incorporate coding and digital learning outcomes aligned with the provincial curriculum into their own classrooms.

For students, the Tech-Up project will build upon our robust suite of facility-based and Northern BC outreach programming.  New content will be developed to deliver coding and computational thinking activities into well-established educational programs:

All components will be provided free-of-charge.  School Workshops will be enhanced with field trip experiences in our galleries.

Thank you to those teachers who participated in the Tech-Up Education in BC Survey!  We heard from over 120 educators about your experiences with teaching and learning focused on coding, computational thinking and digital skills, as well as your classroom needs and hopes for the future.  We will use these findings to improve development and delivery within the programs above.
