A New Natural History Gallery

On May 17, 2012 we opened our first new gallery at The Exploration Place since we re-opened in 2001; the Biome is a brand new home for our most unusual (and most popular) members of our team; those who sport exoskeletons and those who eat mice!

With an interactive floor, a revamped Nature Exchange, Wenzscope, and more!  In this new, permanent gallery, exploring life in all of its many forms, adds some 2,000 square feet of exhibit area to the Museum.

Meet our animal ambassadors like Loki the Magpie, Sandy the Bearded Dragon and Rio the Ball Python.  Our team of Brain Builders are looking forward to meeting visitors of all ages.

Meet, Greet and See What the Critters Like To Eat:

10:30am - Get up close and personal with our resident critters in the Biome
11:30am - FREE family-friendly science demos for preschoolers and school aged children in our Atrium.
2:30pm - Come to the Biome to learn about some of our critters and see what they like to eat.

When the critters are not eating or visiting with museum guests, our critters are getting their valuable beauty rest.

Please note that demonstrations in our Atrium are free. Regular admission rates apply for gallery entrance which include the Biome. For details about memberships and drop in rates please go to:
