CAMP DESCRIPTIONS:

Private School Science Camp
Dates:  Monday March 12th – Friday March 16th
Times:  8:00am-5:30pm (camp activities run from 9:00am-4:00pm)
Cost: $180.00 (no membership discounts apply)
Ages:  Kindergarten – Grade 7
Camp size: Up to 20 children

Get excited about science during spring break! In our hands-on science centre your child will learn in a way that encourages discovery, creativity and investigation. Through guided experiments, activities and games children will be exposed to a variety of scientific fields such as chemistry, physics, ecology and biology.  Our camps strive to promote exploration, creative-thinking and get children excited about learning.  Games and outside active time complete a fun-filled day.  Camp activities will be geared towards the ages of the children registered.

Spring Break Camps
Dates:  Monday March 19th – Friday March 23rd
Times:  8:00am-5:30pm (camp activities run from 9:00am-4:00pm)
Cost: $180.00 (no membership discounts apply)

Explore Engineering! Are you curious about construction, taking things apart and discovering how things work?  If someone has built it, grown it, moved it or launched it, you can be sure that engineering had something to do with it!  Come explore simple machines, electricity, flight, space exploration and all kinds of interesting engineering topics.  Join us as we discover the systems that make up the world around us through hands on projects!

Primary Engineering Camp:
Ages:  Kindergarten – Grade 2
Camp size: Up to 20 children

Fort George Explorers Summer Care 2012

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT THE BEGINNING OF APRIL 2012!  CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAILS!

Cost: $600 per child per month
July Care: July 3-27 2012
August Care: July 30-August 24 2012 (closed on statutory holiday Aug 6)
Age Group: children entering Kindergarten through grade 7 (children who are 13 years old or older are not eligible for this program)

The Exploration Place's after-school care program is designed with children in mind. At school pick up, a healthy snack, homework time, crafts, games and activities are all part of a well rounded day. Your child will be given ample time to take advantage of what the museum has to offer. Gallery time, presentation, experiments and projects will keep your child entertained.

Registration for the 2011 / 2012 school year opens on July 4th, 2011!

Shuttle service is currently provided from the following schools*:

College Heights, Franco Nord, Harwin, Highglen, Lac des bois, Pinewood, Quinson, Ron Brent, Sacred Heart, St Mary's, Van Bien

*At this time we are unable to provide shuttle from any other schools. Feel free to check out Paxton Shuttle Service to arrange shuttle to The Exploration Place, or contact us to put your child’s school on our waitlist.

Dates of operation:

• We are offering limited spaces for the week of August 29 - September 2, 2011

• Regular fall care begins September 6, 2011 (there will be a full day of care September 6th from 8am to 6pm)

• There will be no child care over the winter break  (winter break starts December 19, we will re-open January 3, 2012)

• The Fort George Explorers are closed over Spring Break (March 19 - 23). The Exploration Place will be offering Spring Break camp programs if you require care

• The last day of care will be June 29, 2012 (this will be a full day of care from 8am to 6pm)

Program Fees:

Full Time Care with Shuttle (Monday to Friday) $375/month

Part Time Care with Shuttle $20/day ($30 for all full days of care as indicated on the School District 57 calendar)

Full Time Care without Shuttle $315

Part Time Care without Shuttle $15/day ($30 for all full days of care as indicated on the School District 57 calendar)

Early Wednesday Dismissal Charge (Highglen, Ron Brent, Van Bien, Harwin only) $10/Wednesday

Discounts & Benefits:

Family Discount -$40/month per child, for families with more than one child in FGE

Free Membership after 3 consecutive months in our program, families will be given a free family membership (please note your account must be up to date and paid in full)

Withdrawals & Refunds:

• Withdrawal from the program requires 30 days notice.  If less than 30 days notice is received, you will be responsible for any associated fees.

• There are no refunds or credits due to an absence including illnesses or vacations.

• If you child is enrolled to come on a day there is a full day of care, part time parents will be charged for the full day of care regardless of the child’s attendance.

• Deposit fees for the Fort George Explorers After School Care Program are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
