The annual Science Literacy Week is a week-long celebration of science in Canada. Join us while we celebrate with opportunities for families and children to learn more about the science they love through stories supported by activities and demonstrations virtually.
Help us participate in the nationwide celebration highlighting the excellence and diversity of science outreach events, resources and organizations from coast to coast!

Learn to Code with Scratch!
September 22nd @ 12 pm PST:
Join Jaclyn in this coding based workshop and get an introduction to Scratch! Scratch is a coding-based animation software program that allows you to create stories and bring them to life through code. in this workshop we will learn how to use scratch then create characters and a story.
Recommended for Grades 6-8

Nature Journalling
September 24th @ 12 pm PST:
Do you love animals? Bugs too? The Exploration Place Museum + Science Centre is here to help you discover and learn about all the different kinds of biodiversity that nature has to offer. From bees and butterflies to bears and bobcats. We’ve got you covered~
During this year’s Science Literacy Week, come and make a Nature Journal with us. Not only will we create a book together for you to keep, but we will also explore how to use other helpful resources to figure out answers to just about any question that comes to mind. Bring along some scrapbooking supplies including paper and a pen as well as any reference books you already have handy. Let’s learn together!!
